National flags

A national flag represents a country. The national flag is often, but not always, named or described in a country´s constitution. Most European countries adopted a national flag during the course of the 19th and early 20th centuries, often based on Late Medieval war flags. The national flag often changes when a new regime takes over, especially after a civil war or revolution. All national flags are rectangular - except for the flag of Nepal.
